Tequila and Orange Juice Drink Recipe
Let me introduce you to the first cocktail I ever had – Tequila and Orange Juice Drink Recipe! I can’t for sure remember exactly what attracted me to it, but if I had to have a guess right now I’d say it was the colours. Just look at them! Although it’s called a tequila sunrise, the colours make me think of the sun setting at the beach after a long lazy summer day. What do you think.
Tequila and Orange Juice Recipe
If you’ve never made layered cocktails before, you’ll be glad to know that this tequila sunrise cocktail is super-easy to do – you don’t even need any special equipment! After stirring together the tequila and orange juice in a glass, you need to gently tip the glass to one side, rest the rim of the grenadine container on the rim of the glass and slowly pour the grenadine down the side of the glass.
This way, the grenadine sinks straight to the bottom and slightly blends with the orange juice, creating the gorgeous sunrise effect you see here.
Now, how much tequila you decide to use in this tequila sunrise recipe is totally up to you. Tequila has a super-strong flavour and I find that some tequila drinks are totally overpowered by the tequila taste, even if they’ve only got a single shot of the spirit mixed in.
You’d think that would be enough to make me leave tequila cocktails alone, but nope!
Hand me a tequila sunrise or a Grapefruit Beergarita any day and I’ll thank you for it! So anyway, I’ve included a tequila quantity in the recipe below, but feel free to decrease it (or increase it!) to suit your own tastes and how much of a party mood you’re in.
